Education support to Orphans and other Vulnerable Children (OVCs)

Access to formal education is a fundamental human right and a key to success. However, not all children in Uganda have a chance to exercise this right. Poverty and loss of parents remains a major challenge though other factors like child labor, unemployment, child neglect among others play a significant role in hindering children from accessing education. NCC has since its establishment worked tirelessly to ensure that children achieve this key so that they have capability to open the doors of their future. We are proud that we currently have a total of 50 children from critically vulnerable families under Child Sponsorship Program (CSP), And they go to our school called Blessed Hill Nursery school which is a project of Nansana Children’s centre (NCC) plus other 10 children whom we are supporting from other school because for them they are in upper primary’s and secondary schools.

Family empowerment programs (Economic strengthening)

NCC has two sub-programmes all aiming at raising the economic standard of the poor families and these programmes are; (a) Skills for life tailoring programme (b) Enkoko/chicken project.

a)      Skills for life training tailoring programme: This year we have made a total of 23 women trained and given startup kit in tailoring and now they are working in their respective communities and this was made possible through the support from Omwana Uganda Foundation.

Enkoko project / chicken project: this year 18 house hold of single mothers have received chicken and currently they are multiplying some homes are having 100 hens and above yet they were given only 10 hens.
